Carpet casters (soft floor casters) (ESH)
- The opposite of hard floor casters are the so-called soft floor casters. As the name suggests, they are suitable for particularly soft floors, such as carpet or PVC. Their unhindered rolling action makes them glide particularly smoothly, even if the chair casters sink into the floor. However, on hard floors like laminate, they leave marks and are clearly audible. They also roll too quickly, so every movement causes the chair to immediately move slightly.
Hard Floor Casters (ESHH)
- Hard floor casters are always used when the floor has a firm surface. Most homes today have high-quality laminate flooring, and this is precisely what requires hard floor casters. These are whisper-quiet on the hard surface and therefore gentle, so as not to damage the laminate. In addition, hard floor casters have seat-load brakes, so they roll more slowly, which is also important on hard surfaces, as otherwise the chair would constantly slip away.
